Nostalgia
Dear Amy, I had come across an old schoolmate at a function recently. While we were having a walk down the memory lane he told me, I quote "You had a terrible school life". You and in we. Let me rephrase it, our school wasn't that great. He said his life got better when he switched school after seventh grade. He realised what he had been missing only after reaching there. He is of the opinion that we didn't have much freedom back then. We had far too many restrictions to leave a sense of being caged. We didn't have a freedom of choice nor did we have freedom of opinion. In retrospect I think I didn't have far too many opinions on freedom back then to feel bad about the lack thereof. Memories are often tricky, difficult to come by in my case. So thinking about school life doesn't necessarily make me nostalgic. I don't see it that way.
